    Bringing vanlife home

Three days three lakes Driving from the coast we headed straight in to the heatwave. Three days through France stopping at three lakes. First stop at Angouleme - a quiet place in the countryside by a lake. Super hot lake. And for some reason a lot of british people swimming about in it. Second stop at a Water resort in the Loire valley - expensive, but so worth it, spent the whole day and night in the pool and lake. Also got to watch the Sweden- Germany game on a huge screen.

Handling Heat wave & Other waves

I've said this before, but I do love Biarritz and Hossegor area. Surf culture, cozy cafes, nice beaches and good food. And all the hydrangeas in the world! Heat Wave & Other Waves It's been SOO hot that we've practically moved to the beach. If anything has to be done, it has to happen pre lunch, then head to beach and set up camp for the rest of the day. Swimming, bathing, surfing - simply being in the water. The waves have been petite, but Mattias always have fun in the wate

About Amsterdam - and the living like a local

Getting around in Amsterdam on bikes is the thing to do, seeing the lovely canals and cute houses all the way down to the canals. Biking around making us feel like locals, ’cause it seems wherever you have to go in Amsterdam you go by bike. Young, medium or old. Love it! We got to catch up with a friend from Amsterdam and getting some tips on where to go. There´s definitely a chilled out hippie vibe and loved the big park - Voldenpark where they had some great playgrounds too

    Vanlife - it’s addictive

As soon as we drove up in our drive way after our long trip this fall we started making new plans for the next trip. It was harder than I thought coming back, getting in to all of the every day routines and getting all of the colds and flus in the world. This spring has been loooong and we are so stoked to take of and head out again in the van. The simpler life. Even if I have managed to get a hernia that will be joining us... We haven’t made much plans but heading for Biarri

About the wedding. And the DIY part...

Do It Yourself Wedding... It's really more like Do It With Friends Wedding. DIWF wedding, doesn't sound quite as catchy but really - without help from friends and family, how does anyone set up your own wedding? It's a big project even if you're planning a small, rural wedding. We got married two years ago, 170527. Out celebrating it yesterday and looking back, even though the day was amazing I think the both of us most of all remembered the fun of planning, our nights of tal

    White Christmas & Now What?

Spending time in winter wonderland, happy to see family and friends and trying to adjust to the cold. Gearing up with merino wool, hats and jackets. Vanlife went from 20 degrees plus to minus 15. Zoey is happier than ever about the REAL SNOW :) Everyone is happy to see us and hear about the trip. Most asked question this far is: - How does it feel being back? There’s definitely a mixed set of emotions going on... Home is where you park it Back at the house and it kind of feel

Driving North - through seasons and protests

Before leaving the ocean we had to try surfing the Mediterranean. Very small, but glassy and without a crowd for sure :) Mattias had some fun, trying to hand stand on the board. I was going to jump in later on, but too flat... should have went in there and then... when there are waves we surf style... Enjoyed some last days of sun in Sitges and Peniscola then headed for the border. Stuck in yellow west protest Every time we are in France there are some kind of protest going o

Spain - Citylife, oranges & flamingos

Seville - Surf, surf, surf, Why can’t we look at more churches?, says the five-yearold. She loved the cathedral in Lisbon. The gold, the decorations, the high ceiling and that there was a sign saying you need to be quiet in there. Alright, so when in Seville we decided to take a look at one of the three biggest churches in the WORLD. Once there, at this GIANT church Zoey decided She did not want to go in to a Big church, She was way to busy with her new spanish fan. And it t

Somewhere between a rock and a hard place...

... that is where you’ll find us ... Arrifana & The epic epicness Both of us had the best surf ever in Praia da Arrifana. It’s strange how when you come to a beach you think it’s always the same, but they change every day. Some beaches even disappear from one day to the next. And to us Arrifana had the perfect lines and I thought this must be the way the waves always come in here & it wasn’t that busy so we stayed for almost a week, but Word spread and the surfers and vans fi

Sagres - the end of the world and vanlife heaven

Arriving in Sagres and the surf and campervan lifestyle surrounds us. Vanlife heaven. Everything feels adjusted to the life we are living right now. Add cliffs, turquoise water, beautiful beaches and Meeting up with all the people we have met along the way, all in the same place and the feeling of having made it home is there. The final destination for vanlifers. The sounds from a parking lot Talking to friend about the sounds we will miss. Surrounded by surfers there is a l

Lisboa & All the tiles in the world

Lisboa Had a little peak at Lisboa. A lot happening at once and all in bright, light colours. Happy feel. Not always easy driving in the city with a campervan. Needs a looking out for height signs. All the tiles in the world. Portugal loves tiles and so does Zoey. She LOVES tiles and says she wishes she had them all. They are so beautiful and smooth - like ice that never melts she says. MAAT & The plastic of the sea Museum of Art, Architecture and technology- great building,

Cascais. The glam life meets being sick in a campervan.

Time to try the van with a fourth companion. My mum joined us and we managed to make it even more interesting trying out food poisoning, the flu and all sorts of rashes that same week. However we pulled through, and also celebrated our girl turning 5. Cake, presents and the opportunity to be boss for the day - great success! Lourinha Took a day with friends at Dinosaur Park. Apparently Lourinha has a Big amount of dino findings and a lot of dinosaurs named after the town. Lik

North of Spain. Great surf, great views & tilted car

Scents of spring in the spanish air. Setting up my office outside the van cause we have fast wi-fi for once, feeling all Cinderella with birds churping around me. Zarautz Parked our campervan on a mountain, breathtaking view of the ocean, and breathtaking 450 stairs down to the beach. San Vicente de Barquera Great beach, with surf for both of us. Best surf session for me this far. Colder water though, bringing us our first cold. Not loving the town centre, nothing much to off

Dune du Pilat - it’s a sand thing

Had a little vanlife pause. Flew back to Stockholm to do a job for Axfoundation. The life of a freelance photographer. Strange feeling to be in Stockholm and not heading home to my house. Dune Du Pilat - the biggest sand dune in Europe I knew before we left we would have sand everywhere. Turned out to be a true story, the sand is everywhere. Bags, everywhere in the van, the bed, the clothes, the pockets and the bed. To be honest, there is sand coming out of my ears. So we dec

    Hanging loose

As soon as we made it to the Surfcoast ( the european one ) we really got in to the whole hang loose feel. Everything is much more relaxed here. Everyone flipflops around with sand and salt in their hair looking at the waves. Topics of the day concerns high tide, low tide and the swell. It seems people have similar thoughts on the important things in life and we even met some people that are doing a similar van, surf and yoga journey. The places we’ve been to this far is Bisc

The Loire Valley- another day another castle

Really getting the hang of vanlife now, parking outside a castle and feeling ever so great. Not always having electricity and wifi and thinking it’s alright. I actually started reading a book the other day. Chambord This castle is stunning, we passed it on a trip before and this time we thought, why not stay this time. Apparantly the guy who built it, around 14 th century was going to use it as a hunting castle and while it took 30 years to build he only ever stayed in it 40
